Maedot consultancy firm is formed as a Private Limited Company (P.L.C). The name ‘Maedot’ is a Geez word that means ‘Bridge’ in English. Maedot Consultancy is registered as a P.L.C by the Tigray Bureau of Urban Development, Trade and Industry under the Commercial Registration and Business License Proc. No 686/2002 with registration number 342. In addition, it has been registered with taxpayer Identification number of 0083481148 and for Value Added Taxes (VAT) by the Ministry of Revenues with a certificate No. 19776340008 has been issued starting from 06 March 2023. Maedot is a private firm engaged in providing research, training, and policy advisory services for public, private, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Ethiopia. Its founders have an extensive range of experiences in Training, Consultancy, and Research and Development. Moreover, they have a multidisciplinary higher educational background that covers economic development, Value chain, agriculture and rural development, forestry, natural resource management, environment, climate change, public health (Family Health, Nutrition, and WASH), and urban planning among others. They also have multi-dimensional knowledge and experience in training, advisory and research with international, national and regional organizations like ICRAF, UNDP, German Water Foundation, Bar Foundation, Global Environment Facility, Ethiopian Environment Forest and Climate Change Institute, Ethiopian Agricultural Research Center, Universities….

Company Experiences
Maedot, as a company has accomplished some of the following Research, training, and consultancy services.
- Conducted value chain analysis and agricultural studies (e.g., Poultry, Fishdairy, honey, and cash crop value chains)
- Employed mixed methods designs with large sample sizes and extensive KIIs/FGDs.
- Conducted large scale feasibility studies (e.g., Feasibility Study on the WASH Access Restoration among formerly conflict-affected areas in the Central and North West zones of Tigray) in collaboration with German Water Foundation
- Provided large-scale digital data collection using KoBo Toolbox and ODK, including surveys exceeding 500 households, with complex sampling and quality assurance requirements.
- Delivered training on small business and psychosocial support in collaboration with Chain of Love to selected womans
- Provided training on disability inclusiveness foundational skills (Life Skills) Development, interpruener for Youth with Disabilities in Mekelle (Tigray)
- Provided training on Psycho-social and trauma healing to Tigray Woman association at woreda level
- Offered Training on Basic Farm Economics for Development Agents
- ToT training on Facilitation and Communication Skills for teachers
- Delivered Training on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for volunteers
